Adult Volunteers (18+)

Adult Volunteers (18+)

Our organisation is powered entirely by volunteers who generously dedicate their time to support us. There are two main types of volunteers: the uniformed Leaders and the Trustee Board. We ensure that our volunteers have fulfilling experiences by offering opportunities for adventure, training, fun, and friendship.

The Scout Association’s award-winning training program for volunteers allows adults to gain as much from Scouting as the young people do. This approach focuses on what you aim to achieve from volunteering with Scouts, while respecting the amount of time you can contribute. Over 90% of Scout volunteers report that the skills and experiences gained have been beneficial in their professional or personal lives.

In Scouting, our adult volunteers are responsible for ensuring that the program is both fun and exciting, while also being safe. The Scout Association’s policies, rules, code of behaviour, and guidelines on child protection and safety are designed to keep our young participants secure as they enjoy and learn.

Volunteering with Scouting is one of the most enjoyable, rewarding, and positive activities you can undertake. You can contribute as much or as little time as you wish, and we will find opportunities that match your skills and availability. If you want to have fun, make friends, earn professional qualifications, and make a real difference in the lives of young people, please consider volunteering with us.
