Join Beavers

Joining Beaver Scouts in Whitley Bay and District is just the beginning of your big adventure!

What is Beaver Scouts?

Beaver Scouts are young people aged 6 to 8 years old. Beavers are our youngest members and will usually meet for an hour a week.

What do Beavers get up to?

Every week, Beaver Scouts gather in groups, called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump your way through lots of different games and activities.

Being a Beaver Scout is all about growing and learning in small but mighty ways. You’ll get to try lots of new activities and make new friends.

Here are some of the things you’ll get up to:

  • Having fun and going on adventures
  • Exploring the great outdoors
  • Trying new activities and learning new things
  • Helping others and making new friends

As a Beaver, you’ll also work toward badges– you could become an expert in something you love or try something new. Animal lover, photographer or future astronaut – we’ve got a badge for everything!

You’ll also work towards your Bronze Chief Scout’s Award. This is the highest award a Beaver can earn, and it’s something you work on gradually during your time as a Beaver.

You can find out more about the Beaver programme and badges on Scouts.org.uk
