The district is part of the wider Northumberland County Scout network, this covers right across the region of Northumberland from The River Tyne in the south to the north of Berwick.
Within Whitley Bay and District Scouts, there are 11 Scout Groups, each with their own Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop. The district also have one of the largest Explorer Scout units in the country and an active Scout Network.
19th Whitley Bay (Earsdon) was formed in 1948, since then over 1000 young people have passed through, each and everyone learning #skillsforlife
In 2023, we celebrated 75 years of scouting.
Scouting actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
As Scouts we are guided by our values:
Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, inclusive environment where every scout can thrive. Through a diverse range of activities, from camping and hiking to community service projects and skill-building workshops, we encourage our members to push boundaries, challenge themselves, and embrace the spirit of teamwork.
Led by a team of dedicated volunteers and experienced scout leaders, we strive to instil the values of respect, integrity, and responsibility in all that we do. Whether scaling mountains or lending a helping hand in our local community, our scouts are always ready to make a positive impact.
Join us on the journey of a lifetime. Discover the thrill of adventure, the joy of friendship, and the satisfaction of making a difference. Welcome to 19th Whitley Bay (Earsdon) Scout Group, where every adventure begins!
